Hold sling at the seam end with pocket facing away from you. The padding should be in your right hand.
Fold the padded end inwards into your left hand so that you are now holding the padding and the top of the sling with your left hand.
Make sure the sling is now folded in half, making two pouches.
Rest the seamed edge of the sling at the fold over your right hand and the other end of the sling over your left hand.
Put the sling over your head and place your right arm through so that the unseamed edge is sat over your left shoulder and the seamed edge is under your right arm, resting on or around your hip area.
Pull the seam around to the front so that the pocket is in the middle.

Carrying Baby/Child
Newborn - 3 months
Once you have the sling on, hold your baby facing away from
you and with his/her head on the left side of your chest.
Open the pouch of the sling with your right hand and whilst
holding your baby’s legs up slightly, lower his/her bottom
into the sling. Now lower the baby down into the sling,
back first then head.

Important: Ensure that the baby is lying between the two layers of fabric which make up the pouch. If you are not sure that your baby is laying in the sling properly, take the baby out and try again.
Breastfeeding
Whilst your baby is in the newborn position, and whilst you are
seated, by pulling the inside fabric down the baby will roll
into your chest enabling you to gently position the baby into
a breastfeeding position. Once the baby is attached, the sling
cover can be used for discrete breastfeeding.
3 - 9 Months
Follow the instructions for carrying a newborn, but instead
of lying them in the sling place them in a sitting position
with one of their arms positioned either inside or over the
front of the sling.
5 Months - toddler
Once you have the sling on pull down slightly on the padding
to open up the pouch. Place your child over your right shoulder
and put his/her legs through the gap between the sling and
your body. Holding your child with your right arm, sit your
child in the open pouch so that his/her legs are over the
padding. Place their legs around your hip so that they are
basically sat on your hip. Pull the fabric on the outside
of the sling up around your child’s back and either up over
his/her shoulder or down under his/her arm.

Removing baby
Whilst still in the sling, push the baby’s bottom up and put
the baby onto your chest looking over your shoulder. This
is basically the reverse of putting your baby in the sling.
Once you are holding your baby high up against your chest, the material will have enough slack to be able to just pull the sling away from the baby.
Detachable sling cover
Before putting the baby into the sling, attach the cover to
the button on the right side under the right arm, making sure
the pattern is facing outwards. Once the baby is in the sling
you can then attach the cover to the shoulder button.
Sensana sarong
Tie a knot in the top corners of the sarong and place over
your head so that the knot is under your arm and the sarong
is over your shoulder. For instance, if you are breastfeeding
from the right breast, place the knot under your left arm and
the sarong over your right shoulder.
Please remember...
It may take several attempts to comfortably put your baby in
the sling before you are completely confident. There is an
art in placing your baby in the sling and removing your baby
but once you have done this a few times, it will come naturally.
Your baby will love the safe, secure environment which a sling has to offer and you as the wearing will enjoy the bond that you feel whilst wearing the sling knowing that your baby is close and secure.

the sling, please contact us immediately. We are here to help

It is important that your Sensana Sling fits comfortably so to do this you will need to measure as accurately as possible. Some people find that more than one size fits and this is quite common.
Take a soft measuring tape and measure from the top outer edge of your shoulder to your opposite hip. As most of our slings are right-handed, you will need to measure from your left shoulder down to your right hip (in inches).
We are happy to exchange your product to a different size should you feel that your sling is too small or large.

Although you and your baby may feel very comfortable wearing a Sensana Sling, the following are a few do’s and don’ts on wearing your sling safely.
Do's
Always ensure your baby is correctly placed in the sling with
the fabric around him/her.
Always follow instructions carefully for wearing the sling.
Always support your child in the sling when bending forward.
Always ensure there is plenty of airflow around your baby
when breastfeeding and whilst the cover is attached.
Always check your sling for wear and tear before carrying
your baby/child.
Periodically check the position of the sling around the baby
to ensure they are positioned correctly. This is most important
when initially placing the baby in the sling.
Don'ts
Never leave your baby unsupervised in the sling whilst not
wearing the sling.
Never wear your sling whilst cooking or over a hot stove.
Never drink hot beverages whilst wearing your sling.
Never drive whilst wearing the sling.
Never store your mobile phone in the pocket next to the baby.
Carrying your baby in a Sensana sling will feel very natural and your baby will feel very secure. However, always be aware of yours and your baby movements and surroundings whilst wearing the sling.
If the baby is extremely unsettled or you feel uncomfortable carrying the baby, take the baby out of the sling and try repositioning them again.
Remember...
Everyone is different and all babies are different. Some babies
will feel very comfortable whilst being carried in the sling
whereas some babies will not. It is important to initially
try carrying your baby in the sling when they are settled
(ie. after a feed) or when they are ready for a sleep.
At Sensana Slings, we endeavour to make our products with the highest of quality using primarily 100% cotton. Some of our products are made using other fabrics such as stretch cotton and poplin, so to keep your sling looking like new we suggest the following care instructions.
Washing
Gentle warm or cold wash only – 30° or below is recommended. Can be machine
washed as suggested but hand washing is preferable. Wash only with similar
colour fabrics.
Drying
Do not dry in direct sunlight.
Do not tumble dry as shrinkage may occur. This depends on the fabric.
Open sling
up completely to dry – do not dry it folded.
Ironing
Do not iron directly onto sling.
When ironing, try to use a
towel or other cloth over the fabric and then iron.
Storage
It is preferable to store the sling and its cover in the co-ordinating
bag as this will prolong the life of your sling.
